Florida's got a lot of fun and crazy stuff in it. The draft is already mostly written, and from the very start of this project it had some of the most developed lore that I had thought out ahead of time. Some of it's kind of stupid and memey as a result, but if there's any one state where you can get away with worldbuilding nonsense, it's Florida.
Mostly because they’re closer to Tuscaloosa. USA-Tupelo is politically moderate, but isn’t interested in expanding into Alabama, so they get along better than much more aggressive Selma. There’s also just some plain disillusion with southern democracy. The ANRC has got a certain military hard-headedness to it, and they aren’t very politically-savvy. It’s not a very decisive thing though; Tuscaloosa would really like to rule all of Alabama by themselves. They dislike the FAR as well, just slightly less than Selma.
If this were a monster movie, the ANRC would have the buzz-cut general who wants to nuke San Francisco to stop Godzilla.
Very much looking forward to the florida post

"The one rule all Floridians know from miami to penscola, don't step foot in the jacksonville containment zone"
Seconding this. My most anticipated article of the series, for a few months now.
Is the Pirate King's real name Gilbert Sullivan or Sullivan Gilbert?
Let’s say his name is Donald Adams. 😁

Why does the ANRC view the CSS as a worse threat than the FAR?
