Realistically this character probably isn’t actually Zelensky, given the curious chain of events that led to him becoming politically prominent. But I remember some vatnik telegram channel post about Zelensky allegedly buying a house in Vero Beach as a potential refuge in case he had to flee the country, and it got me thinking.
Later on in the series there will be a round-up article for outlying territories and other areas of interest to the United States. The American Caribbean will get covered.
Political partisanship regarding the name notwithstanding, I’ve tried to avoid name changes if I can help it. So far most place names in this series are in their early 2000s configurations, unless a name escaped me and I accidentally applied some recent change. This is more apparent in the book itself, where certain places throughout Oklahoma have their older names, whose recent revisions I am more aware of.
The exception is if a faction itself renames something, in which case I will try to make it clear that the name has been changed (example: Friday Harbor, Washington getting renamed to Novosarov, or the George Washington Legion anglicizing all the city names in New Mexico).
If Joe Biden renames the Nate Higgers Confederate Memorial to the George Floyd Center for Peace and Equality, I’m keeping the old name. If Donald Trump renames Rosa Parks Memorial Air Force Base to Ultra-MAGA Patriot Revenge HQ, I will keep the old name.
New Smyrna can’t survive without a constant influx of cigarettes
this is amazing
I love the lore drop of Zelenskyy becoming a Florida snow bird before he gets killed

Fun article! Will we get an article on Cuba and the USAIE?

Sounds like a fascinating article!

I'm just being goofy. It makes sense to essentially take a "snapshot" of the world at a specific reference point for the basis.
On the off chance that you notice late that a place has an accidental out-of-snapshot name, you can always chalk it up to Alt History :P
Two steps ahead…
