Pretty good map, only questions are what happened to the whole ohio river border region for it to be a gray zone (i assume that means wasteland) and how did a place like Bloomington survive compared to a much smaller place like terre haute? Though if any college was going to have it students form a socialist government it would definitely be IU.
Grey areas = Nuclear Exclusion Zones, sparsely populated irradiated areas that are still recovering from the Great War. The Ohio River was heavily targeted for its many dams, power plants, and river ports. Both sides targeted enemy waterways during the Great War to make them less navigable and habitable. A lot of the river NEZs in America have greater health risks from leaking industrial pollutants than fallout these days.
As for Terre-Haute, the reason it was targeted has less to do with its size and more to do with its infrastructural value. It’s a rail hub on the Wabash River connecting Indianapolis to St. Louis via I-70. Bloomington may be larger, but it’s more out of the way, and nuking it wouldn’t clog up the arteries like Terre-Haute would. Also, sometimes there are just flukes, and some cities survive while others don’t.
Pretty cool, the only group that makes no sense to me is Baal's Army in VIncennes. Also, where is the Hoosierborean Reich? Dropped the ball there, methinks. Rushville would be a good seat for them.
Nevertheless there’s always a bit of guesswork when it comes to states I don’t live in, and I don’t always get them right. I always fear I do each state and city a bit of a disservice, but I’m trying my best.
The idea is that they’re living in a hollowed-out city isolated by NEZs. The good people got out and moved elsewhere during the early fighting. The far right people are probably either with Combat 110 in Illinois, or are with the Minutemen and are hiding their power level, so to speak. I don’t remember seeing Rushville on the map, either it’s too small or it’s in an NEZ.

its probably too small, but it looks like it would be nestled between Vincennes and New Castle.
Bogus
Damn my whole family would’ve been nuked
